In HTML, the cite element represents the title of a work.

Description

Example of work:

Do not use for names

A person's name is not the title of a work.

This element must therefore not be used to mark up people's names.

Examples

<p>My favorite movie is <cite>The Adventures of Baron Munchausen</cite>.</p>
