Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts
Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts (BLCA) is a nonprofit community art center in Fridley, Minnesota.
History
Established in 1979, it was originally known as North Suburban Center for the Arts.
In 1988, having outgrown its original shopping mall home, the Center moved to the historic Banfill-Locke house on the Mississippi River in Fridley.
BLCA is a public/private partnership, owned and maintained by Anoka County through its Parks and Recreation Department.
Hours
The galleries and the gift shop are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.
There is no admission cost for the Art Center galleries or the surrounding park. Parking in the adjacent lot is also free and handicapped parking is designated.

Directions
BLCA is located approximately 1 and 1/2 miles north of 694 between Mississippi Street and Osborne Road.
Bus
The Art Center is also located on Metro Transit bus line 852 - Express, Anoka, Coon Rapids, Northtown, Minneapolis.
The bus stop, when heading north, is at Rice Creek Way and is directly across East River Road from the Art Center.
When coming south, the stop is in front of the Banfill Building.
The ride from downtown Minneapolis takes approximately 20 minutes.
