Letter case

In orthography and typography, letter case (or just case) is the distinction between:

  • Larger upper case letters (also capital letters, capitals, caps, majuscule, or large letters)
  • Smaller lower case letter (also minuscule or small letters)

Some writing systems use letter cases; others do not.
